If there is one thing Troy hated, it was being like his dad. He hated yelling at his team and he hated punishing them but what they did was unacceptable. If you're going to a party make sure the pictures don't turn up on the internet. He didn't know how to get it through to their heads but this seemed like a good way. If there was one thing that athletes hated it was doing suicides and he knew that this was the only way to get it through their head.

Troy heard the door open and he saw the large group of people coming into the gym. Again? They have to ruin my practice Troy thought to himself. Troy blew the whistle, "Start running some drills! But first take a water break. 5 minutes that's it!" Troy yelled. He ran his hand through his hair and made his way over to the group, "Ladies and gentlemen," Troy said nodding at them all. Troy could faintly see Gabriella. He was going to talk to her after this. He needed to know if she wanted to go out with him for dinner and a movie tonight.

Gabriella finished the meeting with the principle ad after explaining her action plan and the basic defense line she was going to follow on the case she followed the principle outside, at the entrance of the school where he was supposed to welcome the visitors. In her opinion the whole touring around the school was seriously stupid... They were LOCAL authorities for God's sake! They've been on East High before! Some of them attended the school! They knew it pretty well. This was just time consuming and really UN-necessary! When they walked into the gym she heard the shouting and the students running Oh! I didn't realized that you had practice! she heard the principle saying. Gabriella rolled her eyes. God what was she hearing and she still hadn't had a coffee yet! It was morning, school hours and classes were in process... It didn't take a genius to realize that yes indeed, they were at the gym, so naturally the students had wither a gym class or a basketball practice!

She stood patiently and heard the principle talking and going on and on, bragging about the gym and the team and all the championships the school won over the years... She heard all those things so many times before that it actually became boring! When the principle finally decided to leave the gym she sighed in relief. Instead of continuing this tour, which I'm sure that it's not that necessary since the visitors had definitely been here in the past, why don't you take them have beverages instead before we start the meeting to get them to help the school? she quickly suggested, whispering to the principle. She seriously couldn't take another tour around the school!

Troy heard what the principal said and he rolled his eyes. Of course the principal knew he had practice. Usually in the gym he either had a class or he was running basketball practice. Or he was running practice in gym class. "Yes sir. I needed to straighten them out so this is their punishment from me," Troy said. Troy knew that his dad would have done the same thing if he was still alive. Troy sighed as he began to think about his dad. Even a year later it was still hard to think about his dad without getting upset. Even though he and his dad faught, he was extremely close to him. His mom had told him that he was a splitting image of his father. She had told him that the day of his funeral. The hardest thing he ever had to do was go up to the casket and say good bye to his father before they went to the church for a mass. The next hardest thing to do was bury his mother in the ground.

Troy heard what the principal said and he heard what Gabriella said, "I think that's a great idea," Troy said to the principal. Troy turned to the team who had returned, "Practice is dismissed!" Troy yelled. Troy watched as they went towards the locker room and changed into their normal outfits before leaving the gym, thinking he would change his mind. "If you'll excuse me I'm just going to go clean up," Troy said before turning around and walking away. Troy began cleaning up the basketballs. He held the last one in his had looking at it longingly. He wanted so much to be able to play basketball again. He sighed and tossed the ball from one hand to the other.

Gabriella heard what Troy said about the punishment and she had to put a huge effort not to roll her eyes. Oh she knew of those punishments already! She was blamed for several of them when she was in high school! And she could also remember the reactions of one specific person who happened to be giving the punishments now! But she didn't say anything. She just bit her lower lip and stayed there in silence watching the whole conversation and the poor students running. She figured that there was probably one or more girls in the position she used to be in! And boy they must have been going through a lot! Judging from herself that was

Gabriella heard what Troy said to he principal and she nodded in agreement Well I guess you are indeed right miss Montez... Ladies and gentleman if you could please follow me! Gabriella watched them all turn around and start making their way outside and she sighed in relief before she followed them herself... She was already halfway through the principal's office when she realized that she had forgotten a file that she needed for her presentation. Gabriella groaned, before she turned around in search of the lost file... She returned to the gym in case it was there. She walked in and as she imagined she had left it there, for a brief second when the principal was talking to her and then she forgot to pick it up. She took it and was ready to make her way back, when she noticed that Troy was still in there and seemed skeptical as he played with a ball You usually throw that round thing you are holding... Or at least that's what I think? she commented arching an eyebrow What? The wildcats superstar is... afraid?

Troy heard the principal agree with Gabriella and he watched as they left. He saw his team leave shortly after. Troy sighed as he saw Gabriella no longer there. He was hoping that she would have stayed. He wanted so desperately to talk to her but he knew that she was busy. Troy looked around the empty gym. The gym used to be so full of life before his dad died. His dad was the coolest gym teacher/coach ever. Troy wanted to live up to his standards. He wanted to be just as cool as his dad. He knew he had a long way to go to reach that but he was willing to do it.

Troy tossed the ball back and forth between his hands. The last time he had been able to make a basket was the day before his knee injury, before his dad died. After his dad died, he hadn't had the will to make a basket. And after his mom died, for weeks he didn't step foot on a basketball court. Troy heard Gabriella's voice and he turned around. He looked at her, "Not afraid," Troy said, "I haven't made a basket in years. Ever since my injury and my dad died. When my mom died it took me weeks to actually get back on the court." Troy sighed. "So. Where have you been Brie? I was expecting a phone call or text. Just something. Did you decide to change your mind and go back to Drake?"

Gabriella heard what Troy said and she nodded. This must have been painful for him. To work every single day to the place his father worked and a place that he himself got worshiped by the whole school and not only!It must have been hard... And being at a place he basically adored but not being able to do what he used to... He's obviously been through a lot these past 5 years... Well understandable... But how can you know if you don't try...? she asked shrugging her shoulders And how can you expect to heal and get back on track in order to go back to your previous lifestyle if you don't put effort? she added

At what he said next she looked at him in disbelief for a while. before shaking her head. I was in California. I returned last night. I had some serious cases that needed to be taken care of at the office before I returned back here. And... I had to go pick up my stuff from the apartment... she said I didn't call or text because I thought you needed some space to think. You weren't that clear in what you want to do the last time we met... And no, things between me and Drake are over. I cheated, he would never accept me back... And even if he did... The facts are still facts. Despite what happens between you and me, if it happens, Drake is past she replied. She shook her head before she turned her back and started making her way to the door. She couldn't believe that he was asking if she went back to Drake! She was the one who was clear about what she wanted from the start, he was the one who was giving her all those mixed signals and signs and made her confused!
